Mini-gatherings Dates Have Been Posted 11/27

Please take note of the following dates.

January 28 - Note: This date replaces February 4. The church is not available in February. We will try to remedy this situation for next year to keep our events on the first Saturday of each month, January through May.

February 4 - Since Redmond United Methodist Church is not available on this date, how about a pot luck ceilidh at Christ Episcopal Church in Seattle at 47th and Broadway? We are thinking 5pm-8pm for some playing, eating and dancing. This would be a family and friends, all ages event. If you think this is a good idea and would be interested in attending or performing, please email Laurie MacKenzie at LaurieJMcK@comcast.net . We will need some show of interest to follow through.

 

WPA Mini-gatherings Will Start in January 9/18

Just like last year, our WPA mini-gatherings will begin in January. We found that it worked very well last year, giving competitors a little more time to work on their tunes. Plus, starting in January gives competitors a nice warmup to the summer highland games season.

Northwest Junior Pipe Band moving to Grade 4! 10/5

After a successful season in Grade 5, the NWJPB has been given permission by the BCPA to compete at the Grade 4 level! The band is very excited about this new challenge and is working hard to sound great this season.

The NWJPB is looking for anyone age 8 to 18 who is interested in playing pipes or drums. Experiened or not, come check it out.

We have a bass drum position available.

Keith Highlanders Pipe Band Concert October 27-29

Thursday Oct 27, Friday Oct 28 & Saturday Oct 29. All start at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $18 for Adults and $15 for Youth under 18 and Senior over 60

Don’t vacillate, speculate, obfuscate, hesitate or ruminate! If you do, you won’t be able to get a ticket. Move quickly and you can pick your own seat! A complete sellout at last year's three concerts, the Keith Highlanders Pipe Band returns to KPC, bringing the finest Celtic entertainment available in the Pacific Northwest to Kirkland!

Returning guests include:

Champion solo piper Jori Chisholm: winner of the 2004 Inaugural United States Gold Medal Piping Competition; winner of the 2005 Cameron-Gillies Recital Challenge at the Dr. Dan Reid Memorial; member of the four-time World Pipe Band Champion Simon Fraser University Pipe Band

Duncan Millar, side drummer with the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band, 2004 World Drum Corp Champion

The best Highland Dancers from the Marian Webb School of Highland Dance

Champion Irish step dancer Erin Pressentin and a few of her closest friends from the Tony Comerford School of Irish Dance

Special guest this year will be An Tua, a Seattle Celtic band anchored by Irish flute player Hanz Araki.

This delightful evening of Scottish and Irish entertaining revelry should not be missed - order early and avoid the inevitable disappointment when you learn the concerts are sold out again!
