The first event in a new facility, Grace Fellowship Church was a success. We had a few glitches, such as lack of heat, but we'll get them worked out for the upcoming event on January 31st.

Micah Babinski judging piping, and John Scullion from Northern Ireland judging drumming, the second event of the year was more broadly attended and had piping competitors in every grade from Chanter to Grade 1.

Washington Scottish performed at the 4th Mini-Gathering of 2008. Alex Galloway and Cam Reid from Dowco Triumph Street Pipe Band adjudicated. Apologies to the Grade 3 pipers, we've either had a SD card meltdown and lost a card with your pictures, or temporarily misplaced them.

Thanks to Micah Babinski (listed in "Who's Who's In Bagpiping") and John Scullion (4 time World Solo Drumming Championship winner, leader of several drum corps championship seasons) from Northern Ireland.

Thanks also to John for leading an impromptu workshop for drummers to give a little more understanding of what some drumming comments mean, and to explain that the judges are there to help you learn how to win, not just to point out your mistakes. :)
